Another Milestone

At the time of bringing out this Annual Issue I am looking back at the events of the past year with nostalgia and circumspection not only to the events concerning Bicycle Industry in India, but also elsewhere else where it matters most. Being able to set standards in the service of the Industry and Trade by virtue of the leadership of this Journal throughout the country since 1958, we have the satisfaction to have provided timely and relevant information about all aspects of vital interest of this sector through articles and write-ups explaining the facts in graphic detail.

Moreover, Indian Bicycle Ambassador happens to be the only Indian Publication of its kind enjoying overwhelming readership thought India and 26 countries overseas.

Also taking up the Industry’s cause at various levels coordinating the Industry Associations (AICMA, UPCMA, etc) has been our Forte. A case in point is our unstinted efforts in persuading the concerned Government Departments to waive off the 4% excise levy on bicycles and parts.

Elsewhere in this issue we have tried to give a composite picture of the Bicycle Industry world-wide by way of erudite articles and write-ups about the industrial situation prevailing in China, Japan, Taiwan, Switzerland, US, Canada and elsewhere as regards bicycles and its components.

We would also like to record my sincere gratitude and appreciation for taking the trouble of providing appropriate articles inspite of their busy schedule to Industry mavins like Mr M.S. Bhogal (Bhogal Sons), Mr O.P. Munjal (Hero Cycles), Mr R.D. Sharma (Safari Bikes) and Mr Onkar Singh Pahwa (Avon Cycles). Our thanks are also due to Dr D. Kebschull, Director of Indo German Export Promotion Project, for his illuminating article on world economy, which we are sure, our readers will really relish.

We are also grateful to the indulgence of all advertisers whose trust and confidence we enjoy without which INDIAN BICYCLE AMBASSADOR’s present unassailable position of pre-eminence would not have been possible.

This issue show-cases our achievements and landmarks reaching another milestone adding one more fruitful year of operations in the service of Industry.
