The Executive Committee Meeting of All India Cycle Manufacturers’ Association (AICMA) was held on 26th August 2009 at Hero Cycle factory premises.
The function was chaired by AICMA President Mr. Girish Kapur. Also present on the occasion were Messrs. Onkar Singh Pahwa – Avon Cycles, O. P. Munjal – Hero Cycles, Sanjay Kapur, Atlas Cycle (Malanpur), Harcharan S. Pahwa – Avon Ispat, G. D. Kapoor, S. K. Rai & Suresh Munjal – Hero Cycles, I. D. Chugh – Milton Cycles, Dr. D. Raghuram & Rahul Gupta – T. I. Cycles, Vipul Gupta – Atlas Cycle (Sonepat) and Ms. Mallika Verma – Executive Secretary of AICMA.

At the onset, Mr. Girish Kapur, Persident, AICMA congratulated Mr. O. P. Munjal on his 81st birthday, which fall on 26th August.
The Executive Committee discussed the importance of ISI Certification keeping in mind the safety aspect and promotion of the products. The members were of the unanimous opinion that ISI certification is an important factor, the impact of which will play an important role in promoting bicycle and bicycle products substantially.
The other important issue discussed included promotion of bicycles with the involvement of various State Government to consider cycle tracks and paths for convenience and safety of cyclists. Apart from the above, the prices of raw materials and its impact in the industry were also discussed.

The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the Chair proposed by Dr. D. Raghuram followed by lunch hosted by Hero Cycles.
