Explore Bicycle Market in Tajikistan

The Ambassador of Republic of Tajikistan in India, Saidbeg Saidov, has urged the local bicycle and parts manufacturers to explore the market in Tajikistan where people frequently use bicycles. Saidov visited Ludhiana on Tuesday December 01, 2009 and held an interaction with members of the United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA).

It is worth mentioning here that presently, Indian bicycle Industry is not exporting cycle and its parts to Tajikistan. Interacting with the industrialists, Saidov said presently, Tajikistan was importing cycle and its parts mainly from — Russia, Ukraine and China. He called upon the Cycle and Cycle parts manufacturers to come to them to explore the market there.


Mr D S Chawla, addressing the gathering, also in the photograph are Mr Saidbeg Saidov, Ambassador of Republic of Tajikistan, Mr Satish K Dhanda, Minister of State-Punjab and Vice-Chairman Medium Industry Dev. Board.

The UCPMA President, D .S. Chawla said they were delighted after having an interaction with Saidov. He said India stood second, next only to China, in manufacturing cycles, adding that Saidov had motivated them to explore a new market. Chawla announced that a delegation of the UCPMA would soon visit Tajikistan to get first hand information about the cycle market there. "We hope to get business worth Rs 100 crore in the first two years after we start exporting cycles and cycle parts to Tajikistan". He said the local cycle industry had a potential to explore the market in a better way there.

Later, in a brief interaction with the mediapersons, Saidov said that Tajikistan also had great potential for cotton - based agricultural industry and tourism industry. He said fine quality of cotton was produced there, adding mountains were located in a large area there fore, there was great scope for tourism industry too.
