Raipur Cycle Merchants’ Association organized a Bicycle Trade Fair in Raipur, Capital of Chhatissgarh on November 7-8, 2009 at Gass Memorial Ground.

The Show was Inaugurated by Mr. Brij Mohan Agarwal - Minister of Public Works Department, School Education, Party Affairs, Tourism, Culture, Endowment & Religious Department, Government of Chhatissgarh and Mr. Suresh Munjal, Managing Director of Hero Cycles was Chief Guest of the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Brij Mohan Agarwal, the Minister, emphasized to the gathering the eco-friendly advantages of a bicycle besides its additional benefits in assisting the maintenance of good health.

Mr. Suresh Munjal reassured the traders and bicycle dealers about the bright future of bicycle industry and emphasized that they should not treat bicycle as a stanby mode of transportation. Today consumers are well aware and understand the kind of products that they wish to possess. They also understand the necessity and importance of after-sales -service and therefore they prefer to buy a product from Show Room which provide good after-sales-service. Therefore, Traders and Dealers need to maintain a good showroom with proper service-oriented staff to keep the customer satisfied.

Mr. R D Sharma, CEO, Safari Bikes, congratulated Chhattisgarh Dealers for organizing such a Show, which provided an opportunity to the local people to see latest models of bicycles available in the market. The two-day Show was visited by number of dealers from Chhattisgarh and towns and cities of adjacent States.

The Show was well organized; however, since the temperature was relatively and unexpectedly high, the organizers could have taken some relief measures to make the visit to the show a little more comfortable for the participants/visitors.

The visiting dealers and business visitors witnessed an organized bicycle rally of school children on the second day which was flagged off by Mr. Sanjay Kapur, Joint President, Atlas Cycles, Malanpur.

DEALERS’ MEET:

Hi-bird Safari Group organized a Dealer Meet on November 6th while Avon Cycles organized a similar meet on the following day i.e. 7th Nov. Both the meetings were held at Hotel Babylon and were followed by Cocktails and Dinner. On 8th, November the Dealers had the opportunity to meet Mr. Sanjay Kapur over dinner.

By and large, the Show went off successfully.
